this is the first official Announcement, of my new Project, an easy to use Movie Editor. Some code is already there, but no release yet. I’ll set up all the project infrastructure in the next few weeks.

I love the idea. Kino and Cinelera are only OK (not that I have the experience/knowledge to improve them!) and even MainActor is limited. My biggest beef with all of these is their complexity to use, lack of supported file formats (kino, can we say .mpg? mainactor, how about .mov? these are digital camera formats, people! they’ve got way more “film” used than a dv camera!), and their interface. MainActor comes the closest to “acceptable” but things seem scattered and everything never really “fits” on the screen tray (too much stuff for 1024×756 i guess!)
anyways, best of luck, and I’d love to make a film and give you feedback (or maybe even help with the layout, if you’d like) i’ll come back again! cheers!

thanks for your comment, since my preferred resolution is 1024×768 too, I guess I’ll have to make OpenME usable on this size
