Hi,
So what is going on in Open Movie Editor Land? Well, a couple of features for the next release are almost done. There are some things that are mostly behind the scenes, like threaded readers for audio clips. However, this should make the application a little more jack friendly.
The model I am using is similar to that found in Qtractor, as I met the author Rui Nuno Capela on the Linux Audio Conference 07 in Berlin. He is a very nice guy, and we talked a little about how to implement such stuff in a simple way.
Regarding a couple of stuff concerning framerates and the plugin ui, that I already talked about in a previous entry. I am mostly done with that. Undo and Redo suffered a little due to those changes, but I think I will fix this after the next release, because things work quite well already.
I have also changed the rendering code to duplicate the whole timeline datastructure, this means that continuing to work on a project while a “snapshot” is being rendered should be feasably. Actually that change was necessary to not mess with the threading code of the audio readers.
And just for fun and productivity I also implemented a basic, yet useful color filter that makes simple color grading in openmovieeditor a reality. See the following example for a screenshot of the ui.

Have fun

Argh! I hate your captcha (or how it is written). You should really put something like «what’s my name» there or something easy.
Anyway; what I wrote was circa:
o Cool! I must try OpenME again soon
o I tried OpenME in 2006, didn’t get it to work
I’m looking forward to testing it. :]

Hi,
I hate that captcha too, but it’s the only working variant available for this blog software, and if I remove it, spam comes in like crazy.
Cheers
