People behaving ridiculously stupid scare me.
Novell is a cool company doing lots of useful stuff for open source software.
This kind of Hardcore-Zealotry that these protesters push for is definitely doing more damage than good. Being a bedroom-hacker, you might be able to live up to a truly enlightened software freedom asceticism. But everyone else, still living in the real world, who might be running a business, will need to enter into some kind of agreements with competitors, every now and then. Like it our not.
Fuck them.
And you know what? If you don’t like what Novell is doing, why don’t you start your own Enterprise? With Blackjack and H**kers? And you know what? Forget the Enterprise!

Being a pragmatic myself, I can understand your position. However, why get upset? There will always be open source radicals who are stilling waiting for GNU/Hurd to appear, don’t listen to webstreams because of the “evil” MP3 format, refuse to watch Flash Videos because they still believe that everything is going to be encoded in Theora one day… but those people are hardly realistic and they hardly form a majority.
So let them kids troll in their sandbox, let them protest, if they want, but ignore them and get on with doing things productively instead of ideologically.
